William Leavitt lives and works in Los Angeles. Recent solo exhibitions include Greene Naftali, New York (2019); Musée d'art moderne et contemporain, Genève, (2017); Institute of the History and Theory of Architecture, ETH, Zurich (2014); Margo Leavin Gallery, Los Angeles (2012); Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2011); and LAXART, Los Angeles (2009).

 

His work is in the collections of Boijmans van Beuningen Museum, Rotterdam; Hammer Museum, UCLA, Los Angeles; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; The Museum of Modern Art, New York; Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, California; San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, California; and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
